Please meet Bessie Matambo, a valuable member of our little team. Bessie is quite new to Australia, she came to Sydney two years ago from New York. She’s now a RN at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
Bessie is originally from Zimbabwe and remembers growing up on Mills & Boon and Barbara Cartland, James Hardley Chase, The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew paperbacks from the local library. These books were a tremendous help for the kids’ language development.
Bessie’s enthusiasm for the Aussie Books for Zim project is contagious!
“This is going to change the lives of so many young people in Zimbabwe and I can’t wait to see the faces of the little ones as they search for a particular book and dive in to read!!! Really can’t wait!!”
